Kirwood Forest Musician Camp

Jen is employed by Pond Hill Farm in Harbor Springs as a server/bartender, and is also the music coordinator for all entertainment booked at the Farm throughout the year. She loves her work and the joy it brings to provide the spirit of music to this amazing establishment. She found her position of bringing entertainment to Northern Michigan a bit challenging since bands quite often need to travel quite a distance to come here. That meant providing them with lodging, so Jen’s “gypsy blood” love for campers coupled with her desire to make things possible inspired the development of “Kirwood Forest Musician Camp”….a place where musicians can spend the night after performing a show at Pond Hill Farm. It is complete with four campers, a studio apartment, an outdoor kitchen, lounge area, shower and outhouse. We welcome band members to stay here and share our blissful world where peace, love and harmony with nature abounds. This is a goodwill benefit offered exclusively to Pond Hill Farm musicians at no cost. Kirby thoroughly enjoys performing regularly at Pond Hill Farm, as well as hosting Open Mic nights on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Jen loves hiring bands to come to Harbor Springs to bring their talents to this amazing, ever-growing, and well-loved establishment. Kirwood Forest Musician Camp makes it all possible!

“Walter” is a 1975 18-ft. camper with a queen-size bed, tucked into a wooded corner of Kirwood Forest. He’s a pretty comfy fit for any weary musician!

The “Gypsywagon” was transformed from a 1978 Dodge Class C Winnebago Jamboree Motorhome. Kirby’s craftmanship turned the old gal into what she is today….another neat crash pad with a full-size bed and a complete gypsy vibe.

The Green Goblin is yet another fun little rig! She is a 1999 Dodge Van that was originally a handicap transport van for an assisted-living home in Florida. Kirby’s craftsmanship once again came into play as he gutted the interior and turned her into their perfect little weekend getaway rig. It has a comfy full-size bed and is a great sleeper amongst the Musician Camp fleet of campers.

“Jus’ Kiddin’” will be the next addition to the musician camp fleet. She’s in the process of completion with intention of having her ready by September 2025.

“The Music Studio” is located above Kirby’s woodshop and has yet one more full-size bed. The Studio overlooks the entire property and is a pretty cool place to lay your head for the night.

Kirwood Forest Musician Camp is complete with outdoor kitchen which includes a microwave, Bunn coffeemaker, full-size refrigerator, pots & pans, plates & silverware, and running hot & cold water. We also have a two-burner outdoor propane stove and gas grill, so bring your own food and feel free to cook yourself up a nice breakfast after a good night’s sleep in our groovy campers!

We’ve got a hot shower too! If you want to clean up after your gig or before you hit the road back home the next morning, we’ve got you covered. Towels, shampoo and soap provided.

Musician Camp Lounge Area – Sit and relax a spell! There’s even a cribbage board, a box of dominoes and a deck of cards if you feel like challenging each other to a little competition while hanging out here.

Kirwood Forest Tiki Bar and Jam Stage – This is where we host our jam parties on the first Sunday of the month, but it’s also a fun place to just hang out and drink a cold beverage.

Fire Pit – And don’t be surprised if you come back after your gig at Pond Hill Farm to a campfire and your hosts Kirby & Jen hanging out waiting for your arrival! It’s one of our favorite spots to share good times with new friends and old. We look forward to welcoming you as new friends and hope you thoroughly enjoy your overnight stay here at Kirwood Forest Musician Camp!

Good Vibes….That’s what it’s all about here at Kirwood Forest!
